While the majority of students live off-campus, many prefer the convenience of living on the University of Texas at Austin campus. Dorm life provides easier access to classes, faculty offices, games and events, and the overall campus community.

Parking and Transportation
Parking on the University of Texas at Austin campus is limited, but there are a variety of options to meet the needs of students, staff, faculty and visitors. There are also many transportation choices, such as biking, ridesharing and taking the bus.
The UT Shuttle System is one of the largest university shuttle systems in the country. UT students, faculty, and staff may ride the shuttles and all CapMetro buses free with a valid UT photo ID.
Legal Services for Students
Students may encounter a variety of legal questions while attending UT. The Office of the Dean of Students provides a Legal Services for Students Student Information Guide which covers topics including Landlord-Tenant issues, Car Questions, Consumer Law, Employment Law, Criminal Law, Domestic Relations, Estate Documents, Small Claims Court and Community Resources.
Appointments for current UT Austin students can be scheduled for consultation on legal issues not on the excluded list.
